The Nutrition Facts table gives you information on calories and 13 core nutrients. The % Daily Value (% DV) found in the Nutrition Facts table shows you whether a food has a little or a lot of a particular nutrient.
For instance, if you see 5% DV, it means that this food contains little of a particular nutrient, whereas 15% DV means it contains a lot. Choose foods that contain little salt, sugar, saturated fat and trans fat, and also opt for foods that contain more iron, vitamin D, calcium and fibre.
Did you know… eggs are a natural source of vitamin D, are low in saturated fat, and contain no trans fat or sugar?
