The Nutrition Facts table gives you information on calories and 13 core nutrients. The % Daily Value (% DV) found in the Nutrition Facts table shows you whether a food has a little or a lot of a particular nutrient.

For instance, if you see 5% DV, it means that this food contains little of a particular nutrient, whereas 15% DV means it contains a lot. Choose foods that contain little salt, sugar, saturated fat and trans fat, and also opt for foods that contain more iron, vitamin D, calcium and fibre.
